Our History

The Woodentops Kindergarten and White House Prep was founded by Mary McCahery (Cert Ed, ADB-Ed, SENCO) in 1985, and she is still at the helm today. Mary is supported by her daughters Grace McCahery and Laura Randall, Vice Principals of the School and Sarah Sanger the founder and Principal of Woodentops Nursery Abbeville Village.

Headmaster, Joe Knight works closely with Mary and in managing a strong leadership team.

Having taught children for 50 years, Mary has a wealth of knowledge in EYFS, is passionate about Early Years development and is a Special Needs Coordinator.

Mary also takes an active role in Early Years education for Lambeth Council and attends regular committee meetings to advise on policy planning.
