The White House is a welcoming and friendly place. It is a happy environment to work in for children and staff alike because of the excellent relationships we build with one another. We have a positive discipline system whereby we aim to reward good behaviour. Children strive to earn House Points every day as individuals and work together to win the House Shield weekly and House Cup yearly.
Our children are encouraged to work together and look after each other. Year 6 children enjoy taking on increased responsibility. Our Head Boy and Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy & Girl, House Captains and Year Group Captains in Year 6 set an example to their peers. Each Year 2 child is buddied-up with a Reception child (never a sibling) every term to foster strong inter-year relationships. When working individually, in pairs or in groups or teams, our pupils support one another and enjoy each other’s company. It is this aspect of the school, even more than our outstanding academic and co-curricular reputation, of which we are most proud. The Headmaster and Deputy Head meet weekly with a Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to discuss the wellbeing and personal development of individual children.
We are a close knit family-run school who recognise the importance of wellbeing and we offer two fully trained ELSA (Emotional Learning Support) staff members. They run individual and group sessions to help children develop their social skills as well as learn coping strategies to manage social situations more effectively.
The White House values of respect, perseverance, positivity, integrity and kindness ensure children are able to reach their full potential in a warm and happy atmosphere. We truly are a family school which celebrates every child’s successes and draws out the strengths in every child.
