Balham Christmas Lights

On Sunday 30th November, the Senior Choir performed in Balham as part of the Christmas lights switch-on, with their singing broadcast live on Riverside Radio. Against the backdrop of a bustling high street preparing for the festive season, the choir delivered a joyful selection of Christmas favourites, bringing energy and sparkle to the celebrations, finishing their set by remaining on stage to help the Mayor switch on the Christmas lights – a memorable moment for everyone involved.

The choir members have also been busy spreading Christmas cheer throughout the local community. Year 3 and Year 5 pupils visited the Wednesday Club at St Thomas’ Church to share festive songs, while Year 4 performed for residents at the Windmill Care Lodge. Both performances were warmly received, with the children engaging enthusiastically with their audiences and helping to bring a sense of joy and togetherness.

Back at school on Wednesday 3rd December, the Senior Choir took part in Carols in the Garden, an event that brought together pupils, families and staff in the lead-up to the holidays. Set outdoors, with hot drinks and sweet treats adding to the festive atmosphere, the choir performed a selection of songs before inviting the audience to join in. It was wonderful to see some parents seize the moment to showcase their vocal abilities too! The event rounded off a series of performances that celebrated the school’s vibrant musical life, its warm family spirit, and its connection to the wider community.
