The White House has given its Harvest collection a unique twist with the Headmaster’s Tin Challenge, bringing together generosity, teamwork and a little friendly House competition to support our local community.
Children were invited to bring in tinned food, with each donation counting towards their House total. This year, our collection supported Ace of Clubs, a centre for the homeless & vulnerable in Clapham and our families responded with extraordinary generosity. Together, we collected an incredible 1,454 tins, alongside many other food and clothing items.
The school hall became an impressive display of kindness, with rows of tins stretching across the floor beneath the House flags. Seeing so many donations gathered together offered the children a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when everyone contributes.
Our final House standings were:

Congratulations to Stirling, our winning House, and a huge well done to every child who took part. Every donation helped make this collection such a success.
Harvest is an opportunity to appreciate the food we have and think about how we can share with others. The challenge gave our pupils a practical way to put kindness into action, showing how individual contributions can add up to something remarkable.
This collection forms part of our wider commitment to helping others, from food donations and fundraising to visiting older members of our community and making Christmas cards. We want our children to understand that giving can mean sharing our time, care and friendship too, supporting our school motto – ‘Curio et Consocio’ ‘I care and I share’.
Thank you to all our families who donated so generously. Ace of Clubs were delighted and emailed to say: “It’s absolutely incredible, thank you so, so much!”
What a wonderful achievement for our White House community—and a Harvest collection to be proud of.
