Wellbeing Week

In the dark days of January, it couldn’t be more timely to celebrate children and staff wellbeing at school. The children took part in activities to promote their wellbeing with a positive team building workshop by the acclaimed Problem Solving Company. Founded using the principles of personal development they used a range of carefully crafted challenges to help our pupils develop essential soft skills including communication, collaboration and resilience, which lie at the heart of effective teamwork.

The children and staff also enjoyed a sound bath, led by our Music Teacher Sarah, which was relaxing and gave everyone time to focus on how they were feeling. Sound baths use soothing sounds and vibrations to promote relaxation and focus and the impact was clear – we may now well be the calmest school in London as a result!

Inspired by the Tate, ‘Explore Your Feelings with Art’ project, the children created some emotion art and took part in a dance challenge to enable them to try to view a challenge more positively! Children also loved daily journaling writing in their Happy Self Journals. The week ended with a visit from Tarka the therapy dog. Children loved spending time with Tarka and found her presence in school calming. What a wonderful way to start January and a new term!
