Holi ‘Festival of Colours’

On Monday 2nd March it was Hinduism day at  The White House and the school focused on the Hindu festival Holi. Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the “Festival of Love”, the “Festival of Colours”, and the “Festival of Spring”. Kalpesh from Kz Dance https://www.kzdance.co.uk/ joined White House on Tuesday.

Kalpesh is professionally trained from renowned dance institutes in India and the UK. Kalpesh is a proud Swaminarayan Gurukul student where he studied the dance art form along with combining modern education with spiritual and cultural values. Kalpesh has a passion for dance, along with a drive to celebrate cultural diversity — a journey that blossomed into his vision for K’z Dance Entertainment.

Kalpesh brought his vision alive at White House on Tuesday by teaching different year groups a number of energetic Bollywood style dance routines. This culminated in a spectacular dance finale at the end of the day where the children performed their newly learnt dance routines together in the playground. The whole school community came together and got involved in the traditional Holi routine of covering each other in colourful powder paint. It was a wonderful joyous experience bringing the whole school community together. Happy Holi!
